The Inspector General of Police by Circular No. RTM 999 permitted lawyers to use their BASL ID as a curfew pass in order to travel to court. However, to cross district borders of an area identified as a high risk zone, a special pass has to be obtained from the police station. Such pass will only be issued upon a signed and stamped document of the lawyer stating particulars of his appearance in court.
Due to requests made by several lawyers, the Presidential Secretariat has now informed the Acting IGP and Health officials to attend a meeting at the President’s Office at 2 p.m. today, to consider appropriate amendements to the said circular.
